Partner Quick Start & Onboarding Guide

Welcome to the Salp Partner Network! This guide will walk you through the complete journey of joining our European marketplace—from your initial application to seeing your products go live and managing your first sales.

Last updated: June 2, 2026

Welcome to the Salp Partner Network! This guide will walk you through the complete journey of joining our European marketplace—from your initial application to seeing your products go live and managing your first sales.

Our mission is Zero-Touch Automation: once your account is fully verified and your store is connected, your inventory, product listings, pricing, and orders will sync automatically across all of Europe with minimal effort on your part.

Going live on our marketplace involves 9 simple phases. Below is the roadmap to get your products in front of millions of European customers:

Phase 1: Submitting Your Application

The first step is submitting a partner application. This gives us the necessary business and tax details to establish your seller profile.

Your public brand name, registered legal entity name, and company structure (e.g. Company vs. Sole Proprietor). You must submit a commercial register extract (such as a KVK or SIRET extract).

A valid European VAT number, your Tax Identification Number (TIN) which is mandatory for annual EU DAC7 disclosures, and your Tax Residence Certificate.

For non-EU sellers: naming an EU Responsible Person with contact details. For recycling: your packaging register numbers (such as Germany’s LUCID, WEEE, or French Packaging UIN).

Phase 2: Securing Your Account (Two-Factor Authentication)

Once pre-approved, you will receive login credentials. To protect your business and financial transactions, we enforce Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).

  1. Log in using your email and password.
  2. You will be prompted to scan a secure QR code on your mobile phone using an app like Google Authenticator or 1Password.
  3. Enter the temporary 6-digit security code generated by your app.
  4. Save Your Recovery Codes: The system will provide a list of backup codes. Copy and save these in a safe place. If you ever lose your phone, these are the only way to access your account.

Backup Recovery Codes: Treat your recovery codes like a password. Each code can only be used once. If you lose your phone and your recovery codes, you will be permanently locked out of your account for security reasons.

Phase 3: Compliance & Document Verification

Before you can activate any products or sell to customers, your account must be verified. This is a mandatory safety check under EU consumer protection and tax laws.

  • Automatic VAT Check: Our system automatically queries European databases to verify your VAT number. This takes just a few minutes.
  • Manual Document Review: Our compliance team reviews your uploaded trade register extract and identity documents.

Onboarding & Compliance Statuses: 🔴 Incomplete / Action Required: You are missing crucial information or tax IDs. 🟡 Pending Review: Your details have been submitted and are being checked. 🟢 Verified: Your account is fully approved! You can now activate products and go live.

Phase 4: Setting Up Payouts & Stripe

To receive weekly payments for your sales, you must link your financial details.

  1. Connect Stripe: In your dashboard under Settings > Financials, click Complete Setup to connect with Stripe Connect securely.
  2. Payout IBAN: Provide your bank account number (IBAN). This is encrypted and securely stored for annual tax summaries (DAC7).

Phase 5: Setting Your Warehouse Address

Your physical warehouse origin determines where your products ship from. We use this to automatically plot your business on our Interactive 3D Vendor Map and calculate shipping transit times.

Bank Security: We never store your raw bank details or card numbers on our servers. All sensitive banking data is handled entirely by Stripe, which complies with the highest international financial safety standards.

Phase 6: Configuring Your Shipping Rates

To ensure customers pay the correct shipping fees at checkout, you need to define your shipping rates using our standardized 4-Zone Matrix. We group European countries into four shipping zones based on proximity to your warehouse (Zone 1 is Domestic, Zone 2 is Near Europe, Zone 3 is South & West Europe, and Zone 4 is Rest of Europe).

Fits in a letterbox or envelope (e.g., jewelry, small cables, accessories).

A typical parcel up to 10kg (e.g., clothing, standard size houseware, small electronics).

Bulky, heavy, or palletized items (e.g., furniture, heavy fitness gear, bulky objects > 20kg).

Phase 7: Designing Your Brand Page

Your Brand Page is your public storefront on the marketplace. This is where you introduce your business to buyers.

  1. Go to Dashboard > Brand Page.
  2. Upload a high-quality logo and a premium cover banner image.
  3. Write a short tagline, set your founding year, link your social media profiles, and write a paragraph sharing your brand story.

Multi-Language Automation: You only need to write your story once! Our system uses AI-driven translation to automatically rewrite and display your tagline and brand story in 22 different European languages.

Phase 8: Connecting Your E-Commerce Store

This is where the automation begins! Instead of manually adding products, you can link your existing online store to import everything in bulk.

Connect using a Custom App token in Shopify Admin. Grant "Read" scopes for Products, Inventory, and Orders, click Install, copy the Access Token, and paste it into our integrations tab along with your store URL.

Generate REST API keys (Read/Write) in WordPress under WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API. Click Add Key, copy the Consumer Key and Secret, and paste them into our portal.

Click the Connect button in our Integrations panel, log in with your Lightspeed credentials, and authorize the connection with a single click via OAuth2.

We support automatic catalog imports for BigCommerce, Magento, Shopware, PrestaShop, or manual secure CSV uploads. Follow the straightforward prompts in the Integrations tab.

Phase 9: Reviewing & Activating Your Products

Once your catalog is imported, it enters a Pending status. This gives you a chance to review your products before pushing them live to customers.

Required Catalog Safeguards: Products must have a valid EAN-8 to EAN-14 barcode and a minimum main image size of 800x800px. Items failing this check cannot be activated. Update them in your native store and run sync again.

Set custom gross/net sale prices specifically for the marketplace, ignoring your native store's original price.

Turn on Manual Override to write custom titles/descriptions. This stops the automated AI content updater, but we will still translate your custom text into all 22 languages!

Manually select or lock the product to a specific marketplace category if you want to bypass the automated AI categorizer.

Manually force a product into a specific shipping tier (Small, Standard, or Heavy), ignoring the automated size/weight heuristics.

FAQ Clarifications

How do Domestic Sales work? (The Agent Model)

If a customer is in your home country (e.g. you are an NL vendor and the customer is in NL), the customer pays your local VAT. The transaction is directly with the buyer, and you collect and report VAT locally.

How do Cross-Border Sales work? (The Deemed Supplier Model)

If the customer is in another EU country, we act as the Deemed Supplier. We automatically strip your local Dutch VAT, apply the buyer's regional VAT, collect it, and remit it via the One-Stop Shop (OSS). You are paid the Net Price with zero international tax paperwork!

When a customer buys your product, the order is sent instantly to your native store for fulfillment. Once you ship the order and add a tracking number, it syncs automatically back to our portal.

In your Compliance & Records dashboard, you can search and download PDFs or XML (UBL) files of Customer Receipts, B2B Self-Billing Invoices (matching Stripe payouts), and Commission Invoices.

Need Troubleshooting? Use the Dashboard's Diagnostics Panel to run instant scans of your shop integration, VAT verification, or barcode errors. Remediation steps are one-click, with escalations directly to support agents and AI helpers.
